But the thing that makes this book stand out to me is the way the author incorporates dimensional elements. From strawberry leaves, bee wings, and fish fins to jumbo rickrack and ruffles the quilts showcase fun elements for babies to touch and explore. My favorite is the adorable Peek-a-Hoo owl quilt featured on the cover. The 3 dimensional leaves and feathers, along with some rickrack, add the tactile interest while the use of charm squares as a border help make finishing the quilt that much quicker.
