Some people are lucky enough to own beautiful heirloom quilts that were passed down through the family. The rest of us have to be content with making those eye-popping quilts ourselves! Now we can, with this fantastic collection of nine authentic 1930s patterns made using reproduction fabric. The projects feature a range of skill levels and techniques and are ideal for showcasing your talent and your fabric collection.
Techniques: curved seams, hand piecing, appliqué, and hand quilting

Written by sisters, this duo compiled projects from old newspaper patterns published in the 1930s and 1940s.  Included is an endearing article about women “making do” with the difficult circumstances while still enjoying their heritage of needlecraft.

My favorite project is a very unusual jeweled double-wedding ring quilt from an old McCalls pattern.  Being a Longarm quilter I also appreciate the delightful quilting suggestions that invigorate my creative juices.
