I confess, I fell in love with this book the first moment I saw it! I love the look of old fashioned traditional quilts, and I love learning about the past. Remembering Adelia is the perfect combination of both. The quilt projects are beautifully simple and the addition of actual journal excerpts from a young woman who lived in Illinois during the Civil War, made this quilt book even more exciting. It was fascinating to read about how much quilting and sewing were actually a part of everyday life for women back then, as well has the hardships they endured.
There are 14 projects to choose from, all of which have that cozy old time feel which I can’t seem to get enough of. This is a great book for using up your stash as well, since all of the designs are very scrap friendly. I can’t wait to get started on sewing these historically inspired and delightful projects.
