The scrappy look is my all time favorite look in quilts. Scrap Quilts Go Country has 9 options to choose from, and I can choose to use my stash to make them really scrappy, or start with a precut selection and have a little more control of the outcome.

I love the look of scrappy with the addition of appliqué. The cover quilt with the flower and vine appliqués in the corners has really caught my eye. My wheels are turning – I’m thinking I have plenty of scraps to make the blocks, and would probably only have to invest in the larger piece for the outside areas. That’s a definite on my to-do list. Even though all of the quilts in the book have a real country look with the colors chosen, it would be fun to see them made up in one of the new brighter collections for a totally different feel. Since all of the quilts in the book are no bigger than lap size, they’ll be portable and good ‘weekend at the beach’ projects.
