Do you live in an impeccable English beach house? Me neither, but after browsing the pages of “Sew Sunny Homestyle” I can easily picture a dozen ways to make my apartment feel like a seaside cottage! From a fluffy tied beach blanket to stuffed seashell and starfish pillows to a whimsical sailboat in a bottle, all the projects in this book have a breezy, beachy, homey feel to them.
My favorite project has to be “Bathing Angels” – two imperfectly perfect pear-shaped dolls, ready for a trip to the shore in traditional 19th C. bathing suits. The “ladies” look so polished yet goofy in their “bathing uniforms” that it’s hard not to crack a smile when you look at them.
And if the sweet projects aren’t enough for you, a flip through this book to admire the gorgeous photography and scenery is enough to pull anyone out of their winter doldrums.
