If you are looking for a historical, ornate, and whimsical embroidery book, this book is for you. I really was drawn to this book because of the way Brian focuses on his love of embroidery combined with history; he incorporates antique, scrappy-style quilt projects with a variety of organic embroidery embellishments. This book even includes two full alphabets for creating your own embroidery motifs. I especially love some of the "feathered friends" (birds) and "laurel wreaths" designs.
