I’ve seen a lot of modern sewing project books come out in the past few years, but none have grabbed my attention as much as Everyday Handmade. Cassie and Adrienne’s projects are just so darn cute, and yet they are practical at the same time. There are at least five things in the book that I want to make for myself (like the travel wallet/passport holder and the woodland sewing set), and many more that would make great gifts for others (like the e-reader case, the ladybug coin purse, and the box bag). Not only are the projects practical, but they are full of character, thanks to the authors’ wonderful imaginations and attention to detail. What really makes this book a winner though is the quality of the patterns. The photography is beautiful and abundant, yet clear and not overly stylized, and the patterns include very detailed full color diagrams, along with the authors’ notes and tips throughout. If you’re looking for a great gift pattern book to add to your library, this one is it!
