Jessica encourages you to work with both solids and prints, and she has arranged her book with separate chapters on different ways of mixing in solids. At first glance, this book looks like a modern-enthusiast's classic project book, but as you look deeper, it's much more of a how-to book which makes full use of your stash. Projects include a quilted camera case, bold pillow wraps, quilts of all sizes, and a wall pocket.

Solid fabrics are the perfect way to make a quilt with a clean, modern aesthetic, and they are economical too! We have a bunch of new solid fabrics in stock this fall that I’ve been coveting, but I just don’t really know how to use them with the print fabrics I love, aside from the typical solid sashing. Jessica’s book has come to my rescue—it feels almost like it was written for me! She divides the book into sections that mix solids with prints in many different unique and useful ways. Not only is the book helpful, but it’s absolutely inspiring. I LOVE 90% of the projects in the book, and I’ve already used her Twin String Quilt pattern as inspiration for a baby quilt I’m planning. The projects are beautiful and versatile, and Jessica’s color sense and fabric choices are impeccable. Normally I like to choose my own fabrics and colors, but I find myself wanting to make her projects exactly as she has shown them, right down to the quilting, which is also beautiful.
