I enjoyed reading Prairie-Point Pizazz: Quilts with a New Dimension by Karen Sievert. The author has a new twist for adding prairie-points to quilts for a 3-D effect. Instead of the traditional placement on border edges, she incorporates them anywhere there is a triangle in a design. The prairie-points are an added layer, often fused on and/or simply quilted, that add visual interest to the design. Her instructions for making prairie-points and how to utilize them are well-done. Her samples are attractive and fun. My favorite was the pinwheel quilt on the cover; the prairie-points fold back to show hidden animals making it an activity quilt for a child. I look forward to trying this inventive technique with one of my own designs...but I may have to make that pinwheel quilt first!
