Quilt Labby Alexandra Winston
With 12 great science-inspired quilt designs to ignite your intellect and imagination, this book has some really unique quilt patterns inside. Author Alexandra Winston loves math as well as quilting, so her designs spark imagination and are quite modern. Even if you don't have an interest in science, her patterns are very pretty and appealing!

The author, a math teacher and quilter, does a good job of providing simplified explanations in the Study Hall sections; you really don’t need to understand the concepts to make the fun projects. This book provides inspiration to please those with special interests. If you or someone in your life is interested in math or science, this book is for you! The quilt representing sound waves would be a perfect gift for a musician. My absolute favorite, a wall hanging with a series of camera apertures gradually increasing in opening size, would appeal to anyone who likes photography. Even if none of these apply, the designs all have an attractive, strong graphic quality and modern vibe with a broad appeal. I am eager to show the projects in this book to my children, who both excel in math (they didn’t get it from me!) and add it to my quilt library.
