This is the sewing project book I’ve been waiting for! As a working mom with a little one at home, my crafting time is precious.  Sometimes I’ll find myself with a few unexpected hours to myself, and I’ll wander into my sewing room but not know what to work on. With this book, I can now find a cute little project and get sewing right away with fabric from my modest stash. 

 

Quilting In No Time is absolutely packed with simple projects that are organized by use within the book. Every project has beautiful full color photos, as well as helpful color illustrations with the directions and an approximate time to completion. There is such a variety of projects that I think I can use this one book to make all sewn gifts for my loved ones for Christmas this year. There are the usual baby blankets, table runners, and pillows, but also really different things like seat cushions, napkin rings, hanger covers, and a variety of handy totes and bags.

 

I do want to mention that the title is a bit misleading. There is very little actual quilting in the book. For beginner quilters like me who don’t have a longarm machine, it’s a relief. The title really should be “Piecing in No Time”. A lot of the projects are perfect for learning classic quilt piecing techniques like Log Cabin, triangles, and English Paper Piecing. This means I can learn a new technique or two, while at the same time knocking out my Christmas gift list. Perfect!
