The idea to create this mini wall hanging actually stems from a childhood memory. Each year around Christmas time, my sister and I would go over to my Aunts' house where they would have us help decorate their tree, complete with a train and of course...a warm cup of hot cocoa! Looking for a handy idea for holiday gift giving? Here is a cute Sewing Kit from our CT archives with pockets, a pincushion, and a needle case gathered up inside.
As a young girl I purchased pre-printed pillowcases from a local
five-n-dime store. The images were sweet, quaint, and creatively
stimulating. The colors were beautiful and the embroidery threads
luscious. I enjoyed creating such a project in this FREE Emboidered Pillowcase Pattern with a bit more of a modern flair, and designed it with a holiday theme. The design is so simple, it can be embroidered in a day! Try it, it's free!
Longtime Connecting Threads customers may remember our Cup Cozy pattern. Well, the pattern, with its instructions for two versions, is back just in time for Week 7 of our 12 Weeks of Christmas celebration! Just for fun, I made new samples with fabrics from the Spring Terrace and Indigo Patchwork collections.
It is time for Week 6 of our Connecting Threads 12 Weeks of
Christmas celebration. That means we are halfway to the holidays, hopefully
with some fun gifts already made! For my contribution this week, the Timeless Tote, I updated the appliqué on a tote bag from CT's past. I wanted a design, part traditional and part whimsical,
to accompany our lovely Lasting Legacies collection.
