It's going to a fantastic year for a few lucky people! Quiltmaker Magazine is hosting their biggest Treasure Hunt contest ever, and we're so proud to announce that we're a sponsor this year. Connecting Threads will be giving away $15 gift cards to all 2nd place winners.
Four Grand Prizes include a Handi Quilter Sweet Sixteen sit-down longarm machine, a PFAFF quilt expression 4.2 sewing machine, a quilter's ironing package from Reliable Irons and a Wallaby cabinet from one of our favorite vendors, Kangaroo Kabinets. There will be 25 additional prize packages overflowing with fabric, thread, books, Connecting Threads gift cards, and more -- almost $600 worth of quilty goodness in each package. In total, there will be over $24,000 worth of prizes. Amazing!
As you browse our site, be on the lookout for the 2013 Quiltmaker Treasure Hunt icon (shown above). Find it, click it, and fill out the entry form. That's all you have to do to be entered!
If you want to find out more details, click here. Otherwise, be on the lookout for that icon while you look around our site. Here's a little hint to help in your search:
You'll find the Treasure Hun ticon when you find the beautiful Sampler of our Quilter's Candy basics with "2013" in the name.
Good luck and happy hunting!
EDIT: We apologize, but Quiltmaker Magazine has requested that this contest only be open to US Residents.
Confession time –as you may or may not know, I've spent most of this year making pillows...

Sherry Saunders of Texas with her design Tulip Twilight:
Jennifer Wheeler of California with her design Country Living:
and Carbonated Creations of Texas with Black & White Flower Fun:
Congratulations to our finalists! We want to send a big thank you to all of the extremely talented designers who entered the contest. We were amazed by the number of wonderful entries, and it was a very tough competition. Now our finalists have a month to submit their secondary designs to our Connecting Threads panel of judges, and then we have the hard choice of choosing the grand prize winner. Which design would you choose?
The submissions to our Fabric Design Contest are in, so it's time to start voting for your favorites! If you've submitted designs, send the link (http://www.connectingthreads.com/cfDesignContest/Entries.cfm) to all of your family and friends and help get the word out. Remember that it's the public's votes that will get you to the finals!
The best part about voting is that you can vote for as many designs as you want. This is great for us because we can't pick a favorite, or even a top ten. We had hundreds of amazing entries. The team here at CT are completely blown away by all of the talent out there. We broke out the entries into 4 different categories, though you may see a little overlap as some of the designs fit well in multiple categories.
We got a bunch of super-cute character and animal print entries...
Dozens of beautiful floral submissions...
Some amazing geometric designs...
And tons of fun novelties...
The finalists will be decided entirely by you, so if you want to have a hand in choosing the next design contest winner, go submit your votes now!
