Quilt Market Recap

This past weekend was Quilt Market for Spring/Summer 2013 in Portland.  I’m so glad it was held in Portland this year because I live in Portland, and for as long as I’ve worked at Connecting Threads I’ve wanted to attend.  So this year was perfect!  And oh what a lot to see!!  Quilt Market is strictly for people in the industry, but for me personally it was a tool for inspiration.

When I saw the toile from the Chateau de Fleurs collection, I drooled! Red is a favorite color and how striking is this two-colored Mon Amour Table Runner?! The spotlight is on the toile which is where it should be! And, it’s accented with the most beautiful red fabric… just yummy!

French Countryside

The Chateau de Fleurs collection is an enchanting recreation of French sensitivity. Delicate toile, combined with soft florals in antique colors, takes me back to my studies of the Renaissance period. French Countryside is evocative of what I would consider French country design. You will find soft colors of nature with golds, reds as seen in flowers, and blues and greens like the fields and sky.
