This past weekend was Quilt Market for Spring/Summer 2013 in Portland. I’m so glad it was held in Portland this year because I live in Portland, and for as long as I’ve worked at Connecting Threads I’ve wanted to attend. So this year was perfect! And oh what a lot to see!! Quilt Market is strictly for people in the industry, but for me personally it was a tool for inspiration.
I look at my job as part ship captain, part circus ring leader, and part janitor. I am in charge of keeping everyone moving in the same direction, on schedule, and clean up any messes along the way.

The Chateau de Fleurs collection is an enchanting recreation of French sensitivity. Delicate toile, combined with soft florals in antique colors, takes me back to my studies of the Renaissance period. French Countryside is evocative of what I would consider French country design. You will find soft colors of nature with golds, reds as seen in flowers, and blues and greens like the fields and sky.
