To start, I have a confession. I did a project without using Connecting Threads fabric. Eek! But it is our thread, so I hope you'll let it slide.
This gifty galore
project came about a bit backwards. It began when I fell in love with
this fabric. I love Christmas as well as mid-century style illustration
(e.g. Mary Blair).
This fabric was the best of both worlds, so I bought it with no idea
what to do with it. I did a google search with the name of the fabric to
see if I could find anyone else's projects using it. Lo and behold, I
found Gwenny Penny's Fussy-Cut Quilted Coasters. A nice and simple project that utilized the focal fabric perfectly. And as an added bonus, the pattern is free and she even walks you through step-by-step (always nice for a beginner!).
Awe, isn't he so cute?! Perfect for the holiday season, this little snowman will bring a joyful cheer to your home. The December Candle Mat is constructed from Quilter's Candy fabric options. Applique, embroidery and half-square-triangles (HST) make up this cheerful project.
I'm sure you'll want to make a number of them as gifts for friends and
family. Certainly a quick sew, and easily created in a couple of hours.
You just need to be careful which way you turn the HSTs.
Oh, gosh, I was complaining and struggling to come up with an idea for
our 12 Weeks of Christmas free pattern, and Sue popped her head up
and said, “figgy pudding”! My response was, “what?” I had no idea what
she was talking about!
This is always a great idea for stocking stuffers, guild gifts, quilt
group gifts, or any occasion gift.. a travel tissue holder! This is a
double treat because it's mega quick to make (it took me 15
minutes!), and this is an early reveal of our new collection, Spring
I have been so happy since Bobbi Blackbird and Candy Cardinal
came into my life. Just kidding. No, I’m not. These adorable litle
pincusions make me smile every time I look at them. I collect fun
pincushions that I display in my sewing room and change them throughout
the year. I would use Bobby for every day and Candy during the holidays.
