These cute gift tag holder pattern is from the book, Jingle All The Way. These were so quick to make they ended up being fun. I LOVE a quick & easy project and these fit the bill. I decided to use the candy cane and holly designs since they looked easiest, but there are several other designs.

Thanks so much to everyone who participated in our Modern Mix blog tour giveaway!  We loved reading what all of you use your solids for, we got some great ideas!

Using a random number generator, we have selected our two winners.

The person who will receive a copy of the Modern Mix book is commentor #71, Caroline.
"In quilting projects now, I use solids only in background pieces or sashing"

The person who will receive two yards of Connecting Threads' solid fabric is commentor #3, Mary White.
"If I won, I'd order a yard of persimmon and a yard of carrot. This is the time of year that I really enjoy working with the orange family....any other time of the year, not so much."

If you didn't win the book but would still like to purchase it, you can do so here: Modern Mix.  If you would like to purchase some of our beautiful solids, you can check out our great selection here: Solids.

We have emailed both of our winners and will send them their prizes as soon as we hear back.  Thanks again to everyone, this was a very fun give away for us.

Nordic Holiday quilt

There are many wonderful things about my job, and one thing that delights me is seeing photos of customer's quilts using our fabrics or kits. In fact, that's one of my favorite things about our Quilt With Us community. What really tickles me though is when a customer takes the time to mail a snapshot of a finished quilt with a letter in this age of email and social networking. Like most of us, most of the mail I get is junk mail, so to receive a hand written letter is truly special!

I received one this week from Peggy Robinson that I had to share. Peggy writes:

Connecting Threads,

I am very pleased with the kit I ordered from you. I backed it with flannel because I happened on a snow flake print in same colors. A friend has an embroidery machine and quilted it with a variety of snow flakes and scenes--gorgeous!

-Peggy Robinson

Here's the snapshot of the finished quilt, and I agree that the embroidery on it is wonderful! And that backing flannel looks like it was made for the group.

"Nordic Holiday blue kit" by Kristin Gassaway (now sold out) in Winter Fun fabric.
Made by Peggy Robinson, machine embroidered by Peggy Cooper.

If you're reading, Peggy, thank you for sharing your beautiful finished quilt with us. It made my day!
