I love quilt books! I collect them, read them, and refer back
to them often. Over the past 23 years of quilting, I have accumulated a large
library! It became obvious to me the books
needed to be better organized; I couldn’t always remember if I owned a book and
acquired duplicates (more than I care to admit). Here's the story of using my smartphone to scan the barcode on my books and catalog my library on the computer.
Connecting Threads and Arrow have teamed up to offer you another
exciting furniture giveaway. From now through next Monday, you can enter
to win your very own Arrow Suzi Storage Cabinet valued at $169.99!
Hi there! I wanted to write a courtesy blog post to let you know that our book and batting sales end next Tuesday. We've had this great offer going for a while now, and if you've been waiting to buy that new book you've been eyeing, or if you've been thinking about stocking up on batting, now is the time!
In case you missed the sale details, you can save 40% on all books in stock -- even the newest titles! I've been looking to brush up on some of my quilting skills lately, so I'm definitely going to take advantage of the sale and pick up the new Quilter's Academy book by Harriet and Carrie Hargrave. Normally, this book would be priced at $27.95, but with our sale, I am going to pick it up for $16.77.
In addition, all of our Hobbs Batting is 30% off. Whether you want cotton, wool, poly-down or even black batting, it's all being offered at really great prices. With the holidays just around the corner, and lots of quilts to finish, it's never a bad idea to stock up, right?
Like I said, these great sales end at 11:59pm PST on October 22nd. Happy quilting!
Oh my goodness, why, oh why, did I choose a paper piecing project to share with all of you when it is my least favorite of techniques? I like the end results but the process is painful! I picked the project of the sewing machine months ago from the book Needles and Notions by Jaynette Huff.
You might have noticed that we recently came out with a bunch of new stash builders with some great color combinations. I instantly gravitated toward the yellows and grays in “Clouds and Sunshine”. It’s such a beautiful and soft combination of prints and colors. I just love it! Mari just so happened to have a new pattern (Half-Square Triangle Fun) that needed testing, so I bravely stood up and volunteered to do a test. As a result, I have now officially started quilting. Hurray!
