Hello everyone, my name is Kimberly Purdy, and my company Lilac Cottage Designs is a new independent designer with Connecting Threads.  The picture is of one of my designs, the Sleep Mat II.  It’s a blanket, mat, and pillow all in one.  It rolls up so that you can quickly take it with you for daycare or sleepovers.

Sew Many Things...

Hello my name is Sue and I have a sewing problem. I just don't have enough room to store everything! I've tried not keeping scraps – but that's just wrong – so I keep scraps. I've tried to use up my stash. The only problem is I keep buying more. I've tried not buying more fabric unless it was for the project I was working on at the time, but there's always the next project in my mind and when you see the perfect fabric, well, you know, no fabric left behind!

A day in the life of a CT Photo Shoot

I thought it would be really fun to give you a 'behind the scenes' peek to show you just how much fun it is working here at Connecting Threads.  As you know I am a Fabric Designer, but I'm also the Art Director for our photo shoots for the catalog and web images.  I develop the theme of the shoots, plan the locations, gather props and direct our photography department on angles and desired results.  Our photographers are awesome!  I work closely with Sarah & Amy, and we three work hard at creating really beautiful images for you to see!
