Judy and I decided to collaborate on a Gifty Galore project, since I love to embroider and she loves to sew. It was a win win situation! For Gifty Galore, the staff here at CT typically just chooses a project out of one of the new books that we are going to showcase. For this project though, we chose a project from a book and paired it with a pin cushion pattern we carry.
When we flipped through “S is for Stitch” by Kristyne Czepuryk we fell in love with the simplicity of the embroidery designs and when we came across the spider web, we thought it was perfect to incorporate with my new Rest In Pieces collection. Judy suggested we make a joint project by using the pin cushion pattern “Pretty Little Pins – Oct-Nov-Dec” by Sherri K. Falls. This pattern is great because it showcases a cute embroidery on the front. So we made up two…one with the “W is for Web” embroidery design from “S is for Stitch” and one with the existing pumpkin embroidery design from “Pretty Little Pins”.
For the spider web embroidery, we chose Haunted Grounds in Curry & Pumpkin Toss in Black.
For the pumpkin embroidery, we chose Ghosts & Ghouls in Lt. Carrot & Pumpkin Toss in Plum.
The embroideries were quick and easy and Judy whipped them up into the cute little pin cushions they are! Definitely a fun gift for someone!!
Since I enjoy working with batiks, it was fun to look for
archived Connecting Threads (CT) patterns to combine with our new Fall/Winter 2013 batiks. It always amazes me how different a quilt can look when made
in a different color scheme or design theme. I hope you like these new
renditions of two CT favorites as much as I do!
I made a pillow as one of the Gifty Galore Projects, that I
am very pleased with. That inspired me to make another similar, but different
pillow. Read on and see how the madness evolved.

Our grand prize winner is comment #144: Evelyn F.

Thanks again to everyone who participated and followed along each week. We have emailed our winners and as soon as we hear back, we will send out their prizes. Congratulations to our two winners!
What a perfect theme for our September Candle Mat!
Yep! A schoolhouse. I know, it's rather predictable but still fun, eh?!
It took me only an afternoon to piece, quilt, and bind this little
delight. Made from our Quilter's Candy, this candle mat will tickle your guests fancy when they come to visit. I love how the wire table stand and header really highlight the candle mat. Can't do better than free, right? Enjoy!
