This was a hard review for me to start writing because, in all honesty, I struggled to narrow down all that I want to say about this book and its author. Rachel Griffith, the author of the new Quilts Made with Love, is an amazing person to know, and an absolutely fabulous quilt designer. I've known and worked with Rachel for a couple of years now, and through the stress of maintaining a blog, keeping up with her four kiddos, and writing a book (!), she always remains positive, motivated, and utterly inspiring. Rachel has a knack for designing quilts that can be used for really every occasion. She understands that the sentimentality that goes along with the gift of a quilt speaks loudly in times of happiness or sadness. One of my favorite things about this book is that it is divided into two different themes: Quilts to Celebrate, and Quilts to Comfort.
Rachel's beautiful aesthetic is demonstrated magnificently throughout the book. Each quilt's fabric selections match the style that she was trying to achieve flawlessly. The quilts shown in the "Quilts to Celebrate" section are bright, cheery, and thoughtful, where the quilts shown in the "Quilts to Comfort" section are more subdued, but are absolutely gorgeous. No matter what you're looking for, one thing is for sure: when you open this book, you will be able to pick the appropriate quilt for whatever situation you or your loved ones are faced with.
As I rapidly approach my third trimester of pregnancy, I see so many quilts in this book that I would love to have adorning my nursery! One of my favorites is called Sweet Cheeks. How cute is this quilt?!
Another quilt that I just keep coming back to is called Oh Happy Day. It's bright, happy, and keeps putting a smile on my face! The best thing about this quilt is that it can be easily adapted to anyone's style.
Now, because I love this book so much, I was eager to get it in the hands of as many people as possible. You know what that means, right? It's giveaway time! If you'd like to win a copy of this book, simply leave me a comment telling me who in your life would like to receive a Quilts Made with Love quilt.
