I love the concept behind the Vintage Quilt Revival book as well as the book itself. The three women who wrote this book all come from different places but are all connected through quilting. That in a nutshell is how a lot of us quilters came together; while we may not have anything else in common, including the quilts we choose to create, we all still have a love of quilts and quilting that unites us. The authors embrace the past and traditional quilting patterns and use them as inspiration, changing them up to fit into today’s more modern aesthetics. I love that they show how modern and traditional quilting can coexist and even thrive together. This book is not only a great instructional and block library book but a wonderful book for inspiration as well. It’s visually stunning and fun to read as it has design notes and tips for each block as well as mini history lessons.
One of my favorite quilts from this book is the Sampler Quilt – they show it in a variety of ways so you can choose the one that speaks to you. This Quilt puts together each of the 20 blocks included in the various projects throughout the book.
