A splash of color on a dreary January day

Seeing this stack of rainbow blocks makes me so happy!

I've been working furiously on my Paintbox Quilt project these past few weeks, and last night I squared up all the finished blocks. I started squaring them up with my regular ruler and mat, but it was so tedious. Then I borrowed our rotating mat and square ruler from the sewing studio at work, and I zipped through all of them in an hour.

That's a lot of trimmings! Look for the finished wall hanging in a couple weeks...

Wonderful colours for a wonderful quilt. My quilting friend Kathy, has one of those rotating boards and they are so easy to use.

The idea from Cat Lady to help birds sounds good. I must try that. Thanks.

Everytime I read this title I substitute January for "laundry" But it's perfectly appropriate that way too. LOL

I use my squaring up rulers and rotating mat all the time. I keep them right next to my sewing machine so I can square the blocks up as I sew.
By the way, those skinny little trimmed off pieces can be used by birds when building their nests. I keep a bag close by to collect them, then scatter them on the ground in the early spring during nest building season.
