Curtains made out of Quilter's Candy fabric

When we moved into our new place this past summer, I was undoubtedly excited to make new curtains for my daughter’s bedroom. Ella’s room doesn’t really have a theme, per say, but it does have some fun wall decals and cute stuffed animals. I wanted to sew curtains with a happy, bright fabric that pops next to the white crib and changing table. She also has an antique framed bunny handkerchief given to her by a great-auntie from Minnesota, and that has some bright yellow in it. (see upper left wall of the photo).

I knew our Quilter’s Candy Lollypop Sun fabric would be such a great choice because it has cute purple polka dots that I love. Best of all, this fabric is on clearance right now at just $3.44 per yard. What a steal! I love how my two-year-olds very bubbly personality seems to match her brand new curtains.

Apr 2, 2012 at 7:52 AM @ Ethan, ah, good point! I measured my windows from the top of the curtain rod down, and then across from window pane to window pane. I think a general rule of thumb is the width of your curtains should be 2-3 times the width of your windows. With these I was a little short, so they are 2xs the window widths. It all depends on how much scrunchiness you want when they are pulled shut.

Feb 27, 2012 at 7:37 AM Thanks everyone! Curtains are so easy to make as well. I just ended up buying those little curtain 'clips' with rings around them since I didn't want the scrunchy-look of traditional rod curtains.
