As soon as the gray days of winter set in I start craving color and thinking about summer. I made these place mats from the book Turning Strips and Squares into Table Sets. They were so quick, easy AND quilt as you go. You could whip them out in an afternoon. I plan on making more for Christmas gifts. There is also a pattern for hot pads and a casserole carrier that goes with them. I used a little fabric from Cheep Talk, Golden Afternoon, and Quilter's Candy.
