Clover yo-yo makers are such a great tool! Because they are something our team has been playing with a lot lately, Jenna and I thought it would be fun to let you know just how expansive the world of yo-yos can be! For those who don't know...this is a yo-yo. Isn't it oh-so cute?!
And these are our wonderful yo-yo makers:
These clever little makers give you the ability to produce a bunch of yo-yos quickly and efficiently for all of your embellishing needs. We've got heart and flower yo-yos, too! Yo-yo's are often used throughout the quilting world, but also have a very valid use for many other crafty type things. Jenna and I put our heads together and came up with a few ideas to share with you.
Yo-yos are great for spicing up everyday objects. It's easy to add pops of color and whimsy to almost anything. For instance, a basic purse. Jenna has this cute crocheted purse that became even cuter with a few contrasting yo-yos. She sewed a couple sunflower buttons on the two larger yo-yos.

I have a ton of throw pillows at home (more than I'll ever need), but some are a little too plain for my liking. This turned out to be a good thing though, because it gave me something else to adorn with these adorable little fabric blooms.

You can even dress up a plain headband by sewing up a few matching yo-yos. These litterally took Jenna less than 10 minutes to make. Wouldn't these make cute gifts?

You can quickly sew on a few yo-yos to match your kitchen colors too.

Need some fancy gift-wrapping? These yo-yos make cute bows and can even be reused!

We also found some incredible yo-yo projects on Pinterest. Just by searching for "yo-yos" or "fabric yo-yos", you'll find a ton of cool ideas. Below are a few of our favorites:
Cardigan with Yo-Yo Collar
Dress with Yo-Yos
Yo-Yo Wreath
Yo-Yo Tree
We could go on forever with ideas and yo-yo making (trust me, it's addicting!), but we want to hear from you!

All of the yo-yos in this post were made using a variety of our Quilter's Candy fabrics.

Jul 21, 2012 at 12:22 AM This brought to mind the yo-yo doll that my DMIL made for the kids many a long year ago. She made all these yo-yos before there was Clover makers and strung them together for a clown doll. The kids loved it and it was washable, soft and cuddly. Sorry I don't have a photo.
Jul 20, 2012 at 7:10 PM McCall had a yoyo shirt/tunic pattern. I see that it's out of print, but the concept would be easy to figure out on your own.
