My Gifty Galore Project - Evening Star Makeup Case

You'll soon notice a reoccurring theme with me and the projects I take on.  I'm overly ambitious and absolutely love projects made from super small piecing.  I loved this little makeup case from Sweet & Simple Patchwork Gifts by Hisako Arai and Yoko Sanjo and thought it was a great project to work on.  Although I love the look of small pieced projects, I'm not a very patient person.  So this project let me attempt the work of small piecing but at a manageable rate.

Here's a few photos of my process.

I chose to make it up from the Rose Manor collection, which I love.  I  love the black focal Refined Rose and chose that as the main fabric (I realized the small pieces would cut up this print, but that’s what I wanted). I chose the Paisley Garden in Dark Mustard and Briar Patch in Brick to make up the Evening Star.  And I used Wall of Leaves in Wine for the inside lining.   I love how it turned out!  I love that it can be used for makeup, but also it's a perfect size for my sunglasses too!
