Gifty Galore Project #1 - Pretty Teacups

Definition of TEACUP: "A small cup usually with a handle used with a saucer for hot beverages…" Or in this case, a pincushion. What a great idea to show off those heirloom teacups, antique finds or garage sale deals.

Pretty Teacup, from the book Super-Cute Pincushions, is the first project for Gifty Galore 2012, and it is so easy!

I used an 8” scrap of Pin Dots Peridot from the Circle of Family collection for my project and then I found this really cute mini pom-pom trim at the craft store. Since this is an heirloom I did not want to glue it into the teacup as instructed, so instead I pushed it down far enough till it stayed in place and then I laid the trim down around it-- a perfect fit.

I love the way it turned out and I will be displaying it with my growing collection of pincushions rather than actually using it. These are so cute; you will want to make a tray full to have on hand for that unexpected gift or how about handing these little jewels out as a gift for that afternoon tea party?

Have fun!
