I love the Needles and Notions book but couldn't decide what I wanted to make. I love paper piecing but in small amounts and I really didn't want to make a quilt or a wall hanging. I collect pincushions so I decided to make the pincushion block and frame it.

Planning is my favorite part, executing my plan is a different matter. I couldn't find a frame I was crazy about that came in the right dimensions. I happened to mention this to MaryJo and she showed me some different options using wood surfaces from our sister company, The Artist's Club.

I settled on the Arch Top Peg Board, which she painted, sanded, and stained for me! The opening was larger than I needed so I just made my background bigger. Deb quilted it for me since I don't quilt and Voila!  It really didn’t take long to make, especially with the help from my friends. I decided to use real pins instead of embroidering them on. I love it and I hardly had to do any of the work! It would make such a great gift... but NO, I am not giving it to one of them!
