Tuffet-Inspired Ottoman

I was really curious about the project, Tuffet-Inspired Ottoman from the book, Fabric by Fabric, One Yard Wonders by Rebecca Yaker and Patricia Hoskins, so I decided to give it a try. (Original photo from the book seen below.)

The authors recommend using any home decor fabric, but I chose to do mine in laminated fabrics so that I can take it outside on the wet grass. I used fabrics 5377 and 5375 from the Home Front collection.

This project was actually really easy to sew together. Since I had never sewn laminated fabric before, I watched the video and read up on some information (found here) and learned about Wonder Tape to adhere your seams together; it's so helpful and fast! I ended up sewing with a polyester blend thread, and with a size 70 needle in my machine. Their pattern had attached cute buttons to the corners, but I ommited these and added a handle so it's easily tranported.

I'm pretty pleased on how this came together, and my daughter will love sitting on it too.
