I feel I may have been lured into the embroiderers' evil web! I have avoided hand work like the plague and now, after only one small project, which I simplified, I find myself looking for, even offering to do, more EMBROIDERY! As it turns out redwork (or whatever color you choose) isn't so bad after all. I'm now working on a bluework piece, soon to be followed by another redwork piece-plus I've go this cute little sheep embroidery pattern that a friend designed. I may have to sneak that in before all the others are done! Embroidery should come with a WARNING – it's addictive!

I loved this Which Witch's Boot embroidery pattern and I just had to do! Because this was my first project, I decided to simplify the design, so I just stitched out the boot and not the candy, jack-o-lanterns, and all the rest. (yes I am a big chicken when it comes to these things). It was really quick and easy to do, now all I have to do is frame it up and put it on my wall.

Jul 16, 2011 at 9:36 AM I am so thrilled that more quiltmakers are doing hand embroidery work now! I've been addicted to the craft since I was 4 years old. Love this boot & I agree with Bobbie, wonderful choice for the background.
Jul 16, 2011 at 6:33 AM Love this! I need an embroidery project to work on in the car while traveling. This could be perfect!
Jul 15, 2011 at 12:03 PM I think this is so cute/pretty! Makes me want to try old fashion boot/shoes. A grouping on the wall would be cool!
Jul 15, 2011 at 8:54 AM great choice for a background fabric!
Jul 15, 2011 at 6:33 AM Red work done with the machine looks so much better than just a printed cloth. I have done a few quilts hand done, but it has been fun playing with the machine embroidery. So you could say I too am hooked.
Jul 15, 2011 at 12:25 AM I really don't like Halloween but I love this embroidery work that you did. I am almost tempted to order it for my DD.
Jul 14, 2011 at 2:05 PM I just love this embroidery! My daughter recently saw the play "Wicked". She would love this in purple!! Great job.
