Hurry! Enter to win this festive Dec la Table Runner.

What a beautiful table runner! By the response of you, our customers, I would say you all agree. We sold out of these kits in record time and customer service couldn’t believe the overwhelming response.

When receiving this pattern to sew for our catalog sample I considered the design to be challenging, but soon realized the technique was very simple. Sew the strips of fabric to create a tube and then cut into various widths. Just moving the strips up or down one step at a time created the sweeping curve-and the quilt-as-you-go method was great too. The batik color choices in this runner are bright and festive, and the embellishments to the appliquéd ornaments add sparkle and make them pop off the background. It was so much fun to make!

Now you could win this sewn sample by just answering the question by commening below, “What kind of batik kits would you like to see us offer next year?"  The deadline to enter is Wednesday, December 15, 2010 by (11:59 pm PST), so we can ship this to you in time to enjoy for the holidays . I will draw one random winner on Thursday morning. Good luck!

I have always loved some black in my quilts, it just seems to set off the rest of the colors used. So, so beautiful and so is your festive table runner!

    I love the bright colors!
  10. Cellogirl Says:
Love the runner--the black really enriches the beautiful colors. Quilted prayer shawls would be a great addition to our active Caring Ministry. Lap robes for wheel-chairs are another needed ministry item. So many patterns look spectacular in Batiks--Ocean Waves, Pineapple--the list is long!!

I'd like to see some more vibrant color combinations with the batiks. The fabrics themselves are so dynamic, I think they should be used together in fresh, bright color combinations!
  19. Elizabeth Says:
This is gorgeous. I haven't made a Christmas/holiday item yet and have been very cautious about it...don't want to be too cheesy. But this is absolutely beautiful and I would make it in a heartbeat.

I used some batik in my first lap quilt and I would love to see another design for a lap quilt...I just love it.

I'd like to see a lap quilt pattern that uses different bright colors in a modern way- most of what I've seen with batiks seems to be a gradual change in color rather than nice bright color combos.
  23. April Says:

Thanks for asking what we would like to see. Most kits are either the wrong size or color, so I don't often purchase them. Table toppers of any type would be fantastic in various shades of Green. I would love to see a Teal,Dark Brown,Cream bed quilt with the OPTION to purchase enough extra fabric to make it King Size; and of course in a pattern/design that would not be to difficult to enlarge.

Something nice for a man. Maybe with panels and batik fabric worked around it. There are so many quilt patterns and fabric out there based around women and not much for men. I tried to get this kit many times but it was always sold out. I just finished my fist bargello.
  39. Kristy Barlond Says:
I would like to see more seasonal batik kits that combine traditional piecing with a smattering of applique. I think that the christmas kit is just great. I tried for the kit several times and it was always sold out! Such a beauty, no wonder!

  48. Samdy A Says:

I absolutely love your fabrics. I would like to see bargello table runners and placemats made with your batik fabrics!!!
  50. Laurie Says:
I love this table runner! And I love batiks too, any colors, any patterns. I would love to see more quick and easy quilts of any shape or size that look more complicated than they actually are, just like this one. Very dramatic, yet simple to complete. Appliques would work too, or quilts for men, or wallhangings or table runners for all occasions? I'm sure whatever you come up with we will all love. Keep up the good work.
