- About the Designer
Having sewn all her life, Helle-May discovered quilting in 1999. Soon, Helle-May's quilts were being juried into national quilt shows and traveling exhibits as well as appearing in quilt magazines. So, in 2008, she launched Helle-May Designs to share her patterns, techniques and creativity with others. Inspiration for her designs stems from a childhood spent playing in her mother's fashion fabric stores and her Estonian heritage with its rich history of needle arts. Her background in engineering also comes into play as she enjoys creating unique geometric designs and finding the most effective techniques to make those designs jump easily and successfully from paper (or computer screen) to fabric. To ensure this success, her patterns are written with logical step-by-step instructions and illustrated with numerous diagrams.
