Vancouver, WA. Inspired by patterns from feed sacks from the 1930’s and the color palette of a candy shop, Mama’s Cottons 2 is a treat for any quilter who likes the look and feel of scrappy quilts and vintage designs. Mama’s Cottons 2 is an extension of Mama’s Cottons, one of the first fabric collections Connecting Threads ever designed and sold directly to consumers through ConnectingThreads.com back in the summer of 2007. It coordinates well with any of the fabric designs from the original collection or fabrics from other designers who create 1930’s reproduction fabrics. The reds in the original Mama’s Cotton collection have been replaced with a cheery shade of orange, giving the collection a lighter, sunnier feel. Mama’s Cottons 2 includes 38 fabrics in candy coated colors like bubble gum pink, creamsicle, mint, lemondrop, and blueberry.  Karen Johnson, Connecting Threads Vice-President and an avid feed sack collector, has a special affinity for the Mama’s Cottons collection, “I admire the resourcefulness and creativity of quilters from the depression of the 1930’s. Working with fabrics inspired by those original feed sacks gives me an appreciation of the history of quilting.”
