Vancouver, WA. Connecting Threads has transformed traditional Japanese motifs with a punch of color to create our newest fabric collection, Sweet and Sour. The authentic Kanji used as a supporting print date back to 1910 when they were hand painted by art students in Japan. The focal prints are also from original Japanese drawings and paintings. These very traditional elements have been updated with a contemporary, citrus palette to create a cheery collection that can transform any space. The fresh, saturated shades of mandarin, plum, sour apple, and lagoon are balanced by the soft neutral tones of rice and tea. Bright and fun, Sweet and Sour would be perfect for decorating a little girl’s room or to give a teenager’s sanctuary a modern makeover.
