While there is some math involved, author Judy Laquidara gives a chart entitled “How to Make Any Border Fit” where you fill in the blanks with your quilt’s measurements, do the math, and if it doesn’t come out exactly even, you add coping strips to fill in the blanks! What could be easier – math with built in cheating!
After being involved in a recent row robin project with my quilt group, I think I’ll pick a border from the 60 options that will enhance the wonderful quilt that it became as it was passed along through the group.
