I have always loved Nancy Halverson’s books and this one is no exception, although its look is a bit different than usual. Owls and butterflies, robots and monsters—this book celebrates kids and grandkids! And it comes at a perfect time for me as I’m about to become a grandma for the first time. From a couple of bed quilts to coordinating pillows and wall art which she calls ‘Dot Quilts’, this book is full of fun things for a girl’s or a boy’s room. She even provides an alphabet already reversed for appliqué to make personalizing that much easier. I especially like the tooth fairy pillows and the nap mats. It’s been interesting to see how I look at fabric and patterns differently now that I have a grandbaby to think about. If you have a little one in your life, or are looking for gift ideas for someone who does, you’re sure to find something in this book that will inspire you to start sewing!
