These charming slipcover pillows are a fun, quick project for your calico scraps.

Fabric Requirements
Pillow #1 - Nine-Patch Apples 18" square
  • 1/8 yard each of 9 different red calico prints (one should be dark burgundy for the apple stem and center)
  • 1/4 yard off-white/cream
  • 1/8 yard burgundy plaid fabric (center sashing strips)
  • 1/8 yard light brown/multi-color plaid fabric
  • 1/4 yard dark brown calico fabric (border strips)
  • 1/3 yard red/brown calico fabric (backing)
Pillow #2 - Apple Barrel Applique 14" square
  • 1/16 yard each of 6 different brown calico fabrics
  • 1/16 yard each of 6 different red calico fabrics
  • 1/2 yard cream/tan fabric (background)
  • 1/3 yard red/brown calico fabric for backing
  • 9-1/2" x 2-1/2" piece of black fabric
18" square and 14" square.
