"Ripple Effect" was designed in EQ7 using a pieced curves block that I blew up and made hexagonal, as all good tree skirts should be. Because I would never in a million years make you, me, or really anyone in the world make a block with curved piecing, I modified the design so that it could be made with machine applique, making this a much quicker project much less apt to be thrown against the wall in frustration. My first try, which is shown on the back of the pattern, ended up a little smaller than I anticipated, and turned into the happy accident of a second sized topper in the pattern. Also included is a table runner version, an homage to the fact that the very first tree skirt I ever made oh so long ago I was inspired to cut down to a runner just for fun.
Come roll in your fabrics, play with some machine applique stitches, and dress up your home or your tree with "Ripple Effect"!
