South Pacific is a new quilt design, based on a very old traditional pattern known as Ocean Waves. The Ocean Waves design has been a favorite quilt pattern for hundreds of years. These quilts are known for their intricate piecing of hundreds of triangles, flowing in different directions. The South Pacific is a fun and laid back version of this traditional quilt. By increasing the half square block size to 4", and the larger pieced square to 16", it is the perfect place to showcase some of your favorite fabrics. It also means that you only need to make 24 large squares to complete the entire quilt. And to make the quilt fit comfortably on a queen size bed, a simple border was added down the sides.

Fabric Requirements:

• 1/3 yard each of 12 different fabrics OR 144 (5") charm squares
• 7-1/3 yards of background fabric
• 8 yards of backing fabric
• 7/8 yards of binding fabric
