by Quilter's Dream This batting is made from the finest USA cotton and is carded, crosslapped and specially needlepunched. Quilter's Dream batting is also made from the finest fibers and is 100% natural and environmentally friendly. No glazes, resins or scrim are used in the batting that will resist your needle. Its thermal value (R=3.8) is warm, yet the batting itself is very light. It is also put through a special process to prevent shifting and lumping. You can stitch up to 8" apart, allowing for endless amounts of freedom in your quilting designs. Whether you are quilting by hand or machine, you will find that needles glide smoothly through the fine, consistent, even batt. Finished quilts can be washed and dried with a minimal amount of shrinkage (approx. 1%). Pre-washing is not necessary. You'll find that this batting also allows your finished quilts to drape beautifully for a timeless, traditional look. Request is the thinnest loft ( 3 oz. cotton per sq. yard); it is great for summer quilts or if you want an antique look, perfect for hand quilting.
