Machine Applique - Straight Stitch
by Karen Johnson
This segment is focused on how to use a regular straight stitch for machine appliqué.
Why Straight Stitch Appliqué? It's simple, it's easy, and you don't need any fancy sewing machine stitches to accomplish it. I like it for art quilts, landscape quilts and pretty much any style of appliqué. It's a tidy finish that works well on fused edges or turned under edges. To decide which prep method you prefer, check out my Introduction to Appliqué, and all the prep methods that follow that segment
Thread? Needle Size? This is not a fussy method - you can use anything you like. I used Essential Thread and a standard size sewing machine needle.
