I appreciate that this book makes you stop and think in the planning process about how your fabric will look once it's cut up and dispersed among the blocks in your quilt. Often enough, if you just took a few minutes to really look at your fabrics and where they will end up, there would be a lot less ripping in your life. Amy gives tips and insights on fussy cutting and fabric placement as well as using unique prints like stripes, double borders, selvedges, and more. She really helps you look at a project and figure out how to make it reflect who you are or tailor it to a specific person. On top of all the great advice she gives there is also a library of paper pieced blocks to pull from to help customize your project. There are adorable patterns for 7 quilts, a pillow, 3 bags, and a magnetic pin tray. I'm particularly fond of the Stash Happy Tote, Tell Me A Story Quilt, and My Tribe Quilt, but you really can't go wrong with any of them!
