A great paper piecing ruler. When you have longer seams the 12" is a must. The plus gives you an edge to use when turning back the pattern instead of a post card or card stock.
When string piecing it is nice to only keep track of the ruler and cutter. Where is that card! I like to use the beveled edge of the ruler to turn back three or more future sewing lines and then trim them at the quarter inch, which gives the placement line for next piece of fabric.. When piecing unique, only one of a kind patterns, I still like to use a card to turn the pattern back because it is a little awkward flipping the ruler around to turn the pattern back then trim.
