Being brand new to the quilting world, I've found myself completely captivated by all of the unique ideas and techniques that I've been exposed to. One of the first quilting blogs that I fell in love with was Elizabeth Hartman's. When I heard we were getting her newest book I was really excited to get my hands on it.
Like her blog, her book is laid out beautifully and the photos allow the charming appeal of her quilts to shine. Elizabeth's patterns seem so mathematical, yet the end results appear so natural and freeform. From start to finish, the level of detail in her patterns makes it very tangible, even for a beginner like myself. She walks you through step-by-step from cutting instructions to making the quilt back. I appreciate the fact that she took the time to comprehensively explain fabric suggestions and tips on selection as well as including multiple alternate color options for each design. If you have a modern tendency, this book should speak volumes to you - I highly recommend it!
