I'm positively in love with this book! modern Plus Sign Quilts by Cheryl Brickey and Paige Alexander is a fantastic guide to making an updated version of the famous plus sign quilt, inspired by historic quilts from and for the American Red Cross and Swiss Army. For a junior quilter like myself, they did a great job of walking through all of the techniques and terms that I would have questions on, the patterns are clear and easy to follow (with great hints and tips), and they outline different ways you can alter their designs to make them more personal to you.
The designs themselves are beautiful and I'm particularly drawn to the "Tribal Plus" quilt design, which takes a simple plus sign and creates a striking pattern! The "Rick Rack Runner" is where I've started my project plans, however, and I'm excited to explore color and plus sign quilts with these great projects! I would recommend this book for it's chic modern designs and for the quality in the writing.
