This book is a great guide for anyone who wants to learn how to machine quilt. I’m a beginning quilter and the idea of machine quilting seems like an impossible goal, but after reading this book, I may consider machine quilting my next project. Pat guides you through all the tools, techniques, and tips you need. She also provides a lot of photos and visuals for reference of any issues you might encounter as you learn. There are also links for video demonstrations. The book covers both walking foot quilting and free motion quilting techniques, with advice for deciding which method and patterns will work best for your project. She emphasizes practice, so there are many mini projects like quilt sandwiches and small quilting projects in the book to help you do exactly that. The latter half of the book has a variety of quilt projects to test your machine quilting skills on. They are nicely varied from table runners and mini quilts to lap quilts and large quilts.
