It wasn't until after my daughter was born that I began making quilts. No one in my family ever sewed, much less made quilts. I learned on my own from patterns in magazines and from articles about quilting. I see a quilt as a a giant puzzle, a challenge to make and a great satisfaction when finished. Over the years of making quilts, I always ended up changing patterns to suit my taste. It only seemed natural to start designing my own patterns. Simply looking at these quilts may make them look difficult but the trick is they only look difficult. Most of my patterns are straight stitching and simple pivot points. Now that I've started I don't think I will ever run out of design ideas for traditional patchwork quilts with a modern look.
