I started collecting Nativities a number of years ago, so when I saw the cover of this book I was compelled to look closer. Nancy has come up with some awfully cute ideas for showcasing Nativities amongst your Christmas decorating. My favorite has to be the Soft Nativity. Because they are 3 dimensional stuffed figures they would be great for my granddaughter to play with, and I wouldn’t have to be afraid of anything breaking. I love the simple, yet clever design, allowing the baby Jesus to be held in Mary’s arms or placed in the manger.
My next favorite project is the Noel Table Runner where a silhouette of the manger scene is built into the O in Noel. Even though she calls it a table runner I think it would make an interesting and unusual wall hanging.
In addition to quilts and stockings there are ideas for a number of pillows--I’ve already started gathering fabric to make the Joy to the World Pillow. Just looking through this book has put me ‘in the Christmas mood’ so I might as well get started on projects now. It will be here before you know it.
