Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 Fusible Batting, Crib 45 x 60
  5 customer reviews

Forget basting altogether, shelve those cans of fusible spray, and put away those iron on interfacings! Heirloom Fusible does it all! This batting temporarily attaches to the top and backing of your quilt when ironed and can be peeled off and reattached if necessary. It can be hand or machine quilted up to 4" apart. Once it's washed, it is very much like Heirloom Premium 80/20 cotton batting. After washing, the batting will shrink up to 3%, creating the desired look of antique quilts. 80% cotton/20% polyester.
Crib 45" x 60".

Love this product, but always have to fuse the front and back. then pin the edges. Still way better than pinning, mostly because it almost fully eliminates wrinkles.

I find that when fusing the quilt top after fusing the backing, the second side to be quilted does not adhere very well. Sometimes, it even falls off. What am I doing wrong? I tried fusing both sides ar the same time, but both sides do not fuse. How do you get topping and backing to both fuse to the batting? What step am I missing? Am I not letting the fabric cool enough between doing both sides? Or am I over heating the fusible material so I loses its fusing ability? Please advise me on your successful procedures to adhere both sides of the quilt. Thank you and Merry Christmas !

I only work with fusible batting & this product is so easy to use. No more pins for me. Hobbs makes great batting.

Love, love, love this batting. I iron my backing smooth then use iron to fuse the batting in place with no ripples, bumps, or wrinkles. Then can place the quilting on top and iron fuse it without a problem. If I find a wrinkle, just pull it up and re-iron till smooth. I pin the edges just for good measure. Then can easily machine quilt on my regular sewing machine no matter how big the project. I always order this when Connecting threads puts it on sale.
