EQ8 Lessons for Beginners
I have just upgraded to EQ8, and even though I have some experience with EQ7 I think EQ8 Lessons for Beginners will be a good way for experienced users to learn the new features of the program, as well as for beginners to learn to use the software.
Chapter 1 has step-by-step lessons on the basics of the Quilt Worktable, Block Worktable, and Image Worktable. I like that the book is spiral bound and lays flat when open so it is easy to read as you work through the lessons. One of the lessons has instructions for printing your design as foundation patterns. This sounds like fun as I really enjoy paper piecing.
Chapters 2 through 4 go beyond the basics with lessons to create a custom quilt layout, making a quilt label, and making a T-shirt quilt. There are lessons on drawing with the PolyLine tool, drawing arcs, applique blocks and motifs, creating blocks with Serendipity, how to search for blocks by category and color, understanding the rotary cutting charts, and creating your own default block.
This sounds like so much fun and I can't wait to start designing!
